At Red Spruce Retriever we specialize in age-appropriate obedience training, which works naturally with nurturing the early stimulation of the retriever’s drive to hunt and retrieve birds.

For the pups we breed, we offer to house the pup for a kick-start program. This allows owners to skip the “baby phase” and get a youngster who will be crate trained, housebroken, and have basic obedience skills and good manners. For our hunt enthusiasts, this would also include basic retrieves and gunshot introduction.

We train our dogs to be family and hunting companions and compete in CKC hunt test and other CKC sports competitions.
We can refer you to local hunting clubs if you are interested in competing in hunt tests or field trials.
